wine walk this saturday

Canandaigua's Main Street will be hoppin' on Saturday evening and you should be part of the crowd. Our monthly Wine Walks have taken off like a jet-propelled rocket - almost 200 attendees in March and over 400 in April. We have wide sidewalks in Canandaigua, but the April crowd filled them to overflowing.

This Saturday, May 1, JOOLZ will be hosting Billsboro Winery from Seneca Lake, just south of Geneva. Stop in between 4 and 7pm to check out our new store and taste some delicious, award-winning Finger Lakes wine. We'll be ready for you!

new from sara silvio

Lots of artists work in gold and silver. Copper, not so much. Rochester artist Sara Silvio takes vintage glass and combines it with copper wire, oxidized rings, niobium ear wires and tiny seed beads to create a look uniquely hers. Come in and see our wonderful selection of Sara's latest styles.

first mow

Love the smell of newly cut grass after the first mow of the season - earliest one ever.

before and after

Here we go - before and after pix. Thanks to the guys at Cutri Construction for another excellent job!

Had to build a wall for an office in the back

Moving the safe was a story in itself...

AND HERE IS THE FINAL RESULT OF EVERYONE'S HARD WORK:

Amen!

ready...set...GO!

April 6th is finally here! (and it's raining in Canandaigua). The last week has been one long blur of meeting with several local artists, receiving new inventory, entering it all into the computer, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning...and then 12 hours yesterday of setting everything up on the wall displays and in the cases. Despite my exhaustion, I do think it looks pretty fabulous, and comments from sneak-peek visitors seem to confirm that. Come see for yourself! As of 10am this morning, JOOLZ is open for business at 112 South Main Street.

PS I'll post before/after pix after I've had a little nap.

carrie came to town

Love that Carrie Underwood! We saw her open for Keith Urban several years ago - her first tour, where she sang beautifully but was not very comfortable on stage at that point. A gazillion awards later and performances too many to count, she is now extremely comfortable on stage and gives the audience a great show. Her Play On tour came to Rochester on Wednesday and we were there. We had great seats (yes, in the fan club section!) and enjoyed every second of it. She must have gone through 20 costume changes and even sang from high atop the audience, traveling in style in a blue pickup belting out "Country Roads." Loved it!
